Lace Up Boots

Cold snowy mornings. Clearing the walk in below zero temperatures so you can find the morning paper. Scraping ice off the car windshield so you'll be able to see through it when going to work. These are the images that typically come to mind when you think of lace up boots but, with the emergence of boots as a hot fashion item, you may soon be thinking about warm cozy fires or a night out on the town instead! Boots are making a huge comeback and top designers certainly aren't making their new styles with the intention that they be used for show shoveling!

Traditionally, boots fashion meant high-heel boots and that's it. Increasingly, however, it's not just this high fashion style that's receiving all the attention. There are now more choices for colors and fabrics for lace up boots and they're beginning to get the same respect from designers who are showing that this style can be fashionable and practical at the same time. Although they have a little more casual feel than other boots styles, new designs for lace-up boots make them perfect for that dress, skirt, slacks, or jeans combo to top it off with style and not sacrifice comfort in the process.

Laceup boots have historically been available only in softer and blander fabrics and styles but, today, they're increasingly being sold with much more exciting craftsmanship. Suede, leather, and other exotic fabrics like crocodile are making their way into modern designs and lace up boots are now available in just as many fabrics as traditional boot styles. You probably won't wear boots made of these fabrics to shovel the sidewalk but they're great for shopping, office parties, or a romantic dinner out. Just as importantly, they're fashionable and reasonably priced and utilitarian enough to keep you dry and warm at the same time!

Available at physical and online retailers across the country and around the world, lace up boots are quickly becoming a staple at most chain and specialty clothing stores. Although online retailers are usually going to have lower prices and a larger selection, you won't be able to try the boots on before you decide which style is best for you. But, when you add in perks like a good return policy and free shipping, the trade-off of potentially needing to mail back the boots if they don't fit may be a good one to make.

However, trying on many different boot styles is often the best part about going shopping so an online store may not be what you're looking for. You'll probably see a little higher sticker price for your lace up boots at a physical location but the benefits to shopping in person could certainly make that extra expense worthwhile!
